Chemo Companions Awarded $5,000 Grant from Thunderbirds Charities to Support Arizona Chemosabe Wellness Events

February 11, 2026

Chemo Companions, a Phoenix-based nonprofit dedicated to ensuring no one faces cancer alone, is honored to announce it has received a $5,000 grant from Thunderbirds Charities. The grant will directly support Chemo Companions’ Arizona Chemosabe Wellness Events, which provide free, holistic wellness experiences for individuals impacted by cancer.

Chemosabe Events are designed to support patients, survivors and caregivers through movement, education, connection, and restorative practices that address both physical and emotional well-being during and after cancer treatment.

“This support from Thunderbirds Charities allows us to continue creating safe, welcoming spaces where individuals impacted by cancer can prioritize their wellness and feel supported in community,” said Alyssa Gofonia-Dinowitz, Founder and Executive Director of Chemo Companions. “At Chemo Companions, we believe in caring for the whole person — mind, body, and spirit. Our Chemosabe Events are designed to support not only patients, but also survivors and caregivers, recognizing that cancer impacts every part of life and everyone walking through it together. This grant helps us expand access to those moments.”
